The Palmer family and the golf world lost another member Saturday, as Jerry Palmer, young brother to Arnold, passed away.
The 72-year-old was the second youngest of the four Palmer children (two boys and two girls) and Arnold’s junior by 15 years.
According a report by Golfweek.com, Jerry’s death comes less than two months after Arnold passed away at age 87.
Jerry served as general manager at the Palmer’s Latrobe Country Club in Pennsylvania for several years.
Speaking of the beloved Latrobe Country Club, Jerry Palmer said on Latrobe’s website; “When you are at Latrobe, you’re made to feel like you’re a part of this club, whether you are a member or not. We will treat you just like you are Arnold Palmer. Customer service is what the Palmer family has always been about.” says Arnold’s brother Jerry Palmer.
As for Jerry’s feelings for his famous older brother,
“Honestly, I can’t think of a single burden (being Arnold’s brother)” Jerry told Kingdom Magazine in 2012. “I enjoy my life. I have two wonderful children, a job I love and I have one of the world’s biggest celebrities for a big brother and the celebrity just happens to be a great guy in every way.”
Arnold and Jerry Palmer are gone, but neither will ever be forgotten.
